I totally agree, I the DSS boot is awesome and the bungee is FAR superior, just slip it on, wet or dry.

Do you want an extra strap to play with and do a DIY bungee mount? I can send you mine if you want.

I don't know if it's common buy I bought my SK7 without it's strap, just the unit. Saved some $$ on that purchase. I got a DSS boot and fixed it with bungee for minimal cost.

This is a good option but the DSS boot is better, a bit more low profile.

That is a good option. I am not completely sold on the bungie idea yet but I probably will be after I dive the wrist strap in two weeks :D

From the site (makes sense):
This replacement mount is lower profile, and is designed to accept 1/8 in. to 3/16 in. diameter Bungee Cord. Bungee Cord mounted gauges are far easier to don than Buckled straps, and are depth compensating.

DSS sells the mount without the bungee. They sell the bungie for .75 foot. Would 2 feet be enough? I just ordered the sk7 suunto compass as well and think the switch to bungee/mount may be needed. Also, :offtopic: but the compass is calibrated for different zones. CA is zone 5 and finland is zone 1. Does anyone know about this.

Probably, but... there is no such thing as too much bungee. Get 5, or 10! Use it for shoelaces, tie your friends with it!

I'm slowly coming to the realization that there is no dive gear problem which can't be solved with enough bungee, cave line and double-enders.

The U.S. (including CA) and Finland are all in Zone 1. It's horizontal splits.
