Hi All,
Apologies if this has been asked before. I am looking to buy a diving watch/computer and would like some advice. The two that i'm interested in are the Suunto Mosquito and the new citizen aqualand nx. Does anyone have any opinions about these 'watch' type computers? I'm thinking along the lines of reliability, build quality, ease of use etc.

Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Marc

I have a mosquito and would recommend it. The Citizen is probably a nice computer and it LOOKS great, but there are only two things that wouldn't work for me:

1. No backlight - I dive a lot at night.
2. Rechargeable but only lasts a few days between charges - I dive often during sailing cruises, and its not good for me to count on AC power for charging. I carry a spare battery for the mosquito just in case.

The mosquito would be perfect if it had a dive simulation mode, like the Vyper or Vytek. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Suunto makes a great product and for this reason I would have to recommend it. I bought my Vyper 3 years ago and I still dive it not feeling the need for a new one. In the word of computers (in general), this is unheard of.

Go pick up either this months or last month's issue of Scuba Diving Magazine. They did reviews on wrist computers. I think they reviewed both of these.

You should be able to find their review online also at scubadiving.com

This should help some.
