Last summer I bought a used Suunto Favor computer for my daughter. The seller said that the battery had been replaced recently. When I received it, the battery indicator showed only 1 bar (nearly dead). I figured: no big deal, I'll just replace the battery before the computer fails to start-up. I just purchased a Vatara 1/2AA 3.0V lithium battery on ebay and put it in only to find that the battery indicator still displays 1 bar.
The battery that I removed was a Vatara battery as well. The date on the origial battery was 10/06 and the date on the new one was 9/09. Has anyone else had similar experiences with these batteries or computers?

The Favor batteries I have changed have fired right up to max. But, I have never let the indicator get down to 1 bar before the change. I have heard that sometimes the computer needs to "think" about it before the indicator goes to full. You might wait a while and see what happens. If the level does not increase, I would check the voltage of the new battery. Defective new batteries are not unheard of. Or, it may be a computer problem, which was the reason it was sold.

I did check the voltage of the old battery; which showed 3.16V. The computer seems to function just fine other than the battery display. guess I'll continue to use it & replace the battery every couple of years.

Might do a search as I seem to recall a thread that with some computers the indicator does not show full until as KH said it thinks about it for a while.

I just did a search. I found out that the 1/2AA battery is avalible in 3.0Volts or 3.6Volts. This computer had a 3.0Volt battery in it when I bought it. I assumed that it was correct & replaced it with another 3.0Volt battery.
Does anyone know which battery this computer should have in it? I checked the manual; which does not specify which battery the Favor takes.

I am an Aqualung dealer (along with being a full service travel agent) and noticed when replacing batteries on some old Suunto computers the battery indicator will still showed low. I took the batteries to the battery store and we checked them out and they were all good. I called Aqualung and they said the battery indicators can become inacurate in the old computers.
