I plan to get a D9 this weekend..have they release the D9 titanium strap yet?

Any pros and cons bout this D9?

this will be the first all - in - 1 dive comp i will have..would like to know more bout it for those who hav been using it for quite sometime..

hope to get some feedbacks from the users here.

cheers

I just purchanced the D9 w/ transmitter last friday, but I have not tested it in the water. I read the instruction book and set it up. Easy enough to use. A friend of mine has it and he realy likes it. The Titanium strap does not come out until around March. Not sure I would want a titanium anyway. THe current strap has a nice secure buckle with extra long strap. The Battery seems difficult to replace on the watch, but the transmitter seems easy enough to change.
I love Suunto anyway. I have the mosquito and cobra. My wife has the vyper and mosquito. The compass is really neat. first dive computer to have it built it.

I like mine. It is relatively small and still easy to read. No real difficulties (after sending in for software recall) with over 50 dives. Compass function is cool and has advantages.

Not sure the computer is small enough to make the titanium strap appealing.

Lots of cash for your first all in one computer, but it's just money.

alright guys..thanks you so much for all the infoz..and quick replies..really appreciate it..coz i wanna get something that i ll stick on for maybe couple of years b4 i need to change them..perhaps software update is a must..

i m getting it this weekend..cheers for all the suunto users! =)

The extended rubber strap is suck and doesn't last long. Mine starts to show some dry rot and cracks.

The titanium strap will be on January 2007 as I am informed today.
Titanium band...... Who cares!

Cons:

SW: Endless bugs...
Compass: gimmick
Strap: less durable than any other brands' ones.
short battery life

Pros:

Everything except the above.

What bugs in the software?

I have a D6 and I like it, though I am finding it impossible to get accessories. I can't get a replacement face protector, and the PC interface also seems to be unavailable.

uhm...May i ask wat are the software bugs?? mind to elaborate more on that??

I think the endless bugs that hoosier is refering to is those that are in the PC logbook application. It generally does a good job, but there are definately some QC issues in the Suunto PC development department..

The D9 is an all in one dive computer kinda like the treo 650 is an all in one cell phone. They are both cool toys but not all of the claimed features work as advertised yet or as good as a stand alone. For example, the video feature on the treo is fun but useless for anything other than taking a video of my dog taking a crap. It's fun, but it will never replace my video camera. Same with the compass feature on the D9. In both cases, I think we are still a few years off before we have true and all inclusive convergance that pans out financially and technically. JMHO.
