Went to local spring today to test out a new wetsuit. I hooked up my reg and BC and turned on the air/nitrox. Took the cover off my Cobra and turned it on, the battery showed full 4 bars. It then went into a dive mode by ITS SELF and said I was at 146ft nitrogen bar into the yellow said I had x amount of air remaing and would not respond to any of the buttons. It keep doing wierd things so we took the battery out. Put it back in same thing although some numbers may have changed. Took battery out and put in my buddys same thing but air pressure in tank was correct. So I dove it as was my buddy knew I only had acess to tank pres & we stayed around 25 ft or less. Well when we got out it said I had a max depth of 196ft and other wierd info. So when I got home 2-3 hrs later it was still on said max depth 210ft -showing stop error-and I am still at 115ft and I have a dive time of 337 min and still it thinks I am still in the water. But it knows I am out of air the only thing that is correct the tank is at the dive shop I dropped off on the way home. I think I am bent like a pretzel, the nitroben bar has peaked. This puppy has broke. Good timing to I leave for Utila in11 days damm. Any thoughts on this. Ya I will have to buy another computer in the next ten day's. And I never liked Suunto's conservitizm. I will be checking this board after this post to figure out my next brand-leaning towards Aeris or maybe uwatec
And I just bought new strobe and arms for this trip, did not plan on a new computer.

How old is it? I've seen one other computer act like that and luckily it was mine. Seems the sensor had gone bad after I got out of the water. It may stell be under warranty and even if it isn't my lds made sure I got a new one.

It sounds like it was stuck in Plan mode or something, either that or the sensor is buggered as L_C suggested.

Take it back to the shop you bought it from if you can.

Thanks. It was 1 year and ten days old still under warranty will ship back on Monday. But I got ten days till Utila so I think I am going to get a Aeris Atmos 2 and use a small spg. Found one on sale and just can't drop alot of $$ at this time.

Here is what you need to do, it is possible to get another Cobra before you leave. The depth sensor is stuck, which was common on earilier cobra.
Go to your local Suunto dealer have them call Seaquest get the Ra # send overnight and have Seaquest return the new Cobra overnight as well. They wont send out the new Cobra till they get yours. I use to own a dive shop and was a Sunnto dealer.. Good luck and have a nice vacation
