Like Chris said, it was a blast, the weather was perfect, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun.

We dove the wreck of the Washingtonian, an old scattered steamer that sunk in 1915. Bottom temps were 57 degrees at 93 fsw, and viz was in the 10 ft range or just under. It was a great dive, and sure beats the quarry any day.

Thats great you all had a fantastic day of diving. It sounds as if diving up there is somewhat the same as here (Va. Beach). We are normally in the 5-10ft vis range, but on Sat a group of friends went out ( I sadly had honey-dos to finish )& they were greeted with a flat Ocean & 40-50ft vis at 100fsw. I went out today & it wasnt that good, but was more like what you guys enjoyed & I did have a good time.

Well, we ended up going out on the SI on Saturday, 11/12/05. And, while some people may have had problems with this boat in the past, we had a great time and absolutely no problems. It was a gorgeous day. The dive was fun and the people on the boat were great. It was very much a guys day out. I had no problem with the boat or the crew and can't wait to dive them again next season. It looks like this season is over as it looks like a probable blowout on sunday which was schedule to be the last trip of the season.

Chris
Thanks for the report Chris, Look foward to scheduleing some dives on the SI next season.

We got out on Sunday in NJ, 4-6 with a frequent 7+ thrown in. Lots of fish were fed!

People make the mistake of signing up for Fenwick Shoals because it is shallow, but it usually has current, surge and can have poor vis - of the 13 or so different sites I've been to with them, it is my least favorite and has usually been the most challenging. IMO, the only possible reason to sign up for it is that they don't leave the dock until 9AM when they dive it. Okay, that and the fact that on the FS dive I missed this summer, my regular dive buddy saw two stargazers and got to swim with a green sea turtle

When I dove the Shoals this past August, the current was ripping pretty good. The upside is that I saw tons of sea life including a school of spadefish, a horseshoe crab, some big bugs I could not reach, a couple of flounder and a large goosefish that settled in the sand right next to me. It wasn't Bonaire, but gettin' wet is gettin' wet!

I would definitley be up for reserving the SI this coming spring for a Scubaboard Bottom Feeders dive outing. It would be fun to put faces to screen names, and dive with a great bunch of people.

As we get closer to the next season, I will post a thread to generate interest.
