I'm thinking of buying an underwater camera for taking scrap book snaps and for fish ID. I don't want anything complicated, just point and shoot. I've been looking at the Suprema Sport. It seems like a bargain and just what I need. I'm not sure if I can use a strobe flash with it later on if I find I need one. Has anyone out there used one? I don't want to get into switching lenses and filters like I do on my land slr's.

Do you have a link to a website so the rest of us can look it over?

Thanks!

I haven't tried searching for a website yet, but there are a couple on ebay. The item number for one of them is 1037462903. This one has the best description. I'll try to see if I can find a website for them.

The Supremas are a handy camera that is an excellent replacement to the throw-aways. They have a larger lens & work to a greater depth.
They don't carry a warranty; a nearly identical competitor has a 1 year warranty against leakage, etc.
Here's the specs on a rig that's almost identical to the Suprema:

(the one with warranty)

Neither is able to accept an external strobe.

Thanks for the info Bob3. The Suprema I'm looking at is rated to 125 ft (which is deepter than I will probably ever dive) so it should be great for years to come. If I buy it at my dive shop, they will probably give their own warranty and I'm pretty sure they can service it if needed. :D

I like having a "beater" camera along, the smaller version (on the site I posted) can slip right into a pocket so it's very unobtrusive.
The 125' version is quite a bit larger, but the bulkiness is offset by the glass lens cover & extra depth rating.
Just had mine in the jacuzzi the other night...
Having the flash right next to the lens is a buttpain in all but the clearest water tho. You'll probably have better results with having the flash turned off unless the water is very clear.
