Not this kind of weight...

But rather, this kind...

Since December I've been able to go from 208lbs to 170lbs (at 6'2" that's 26.7BMI to 21.8BMI)

As this years dive season starts very soon, I'm most curious to see how my trim will be impacted and if my SAC will have changed appreciably.

Overall weighting? Will I be able to ditch any lead? Well, I wore no lead previously with a drysuit, steel BP, and double steel 119's.

Perhaps my SAC has improved enough that I can trade my two sets of double-119's in for a couple sets of double-80's?

Just add that to the new drysuit I need too!

:shocked2:

I was gonna say...you ditch that amount of weight in lead you're gonna crack some guy below you on the head whose just minding his own business.

I've lost 15lb in the last few months. Noticeable effects have included that I am WAY colder that I used to be and also my neckseal needed to be taken in (I really didn't think my neck got skinnier but apparently so). I have not noticed needing to ditch lead though my equipment has changed around a bit so can't do a proper comparison but you'll probably be able to ditch some. SAC rate has not changed.

My SAC rate increased as I read your post about your weight loss. (But please don't ask me to recalculate it)

おめでとうrjpさん!

Yes, congrats! You should be able to drop more weight (lead in this case) because of your preferred weight loss.

You will probably need to increase your exposure suit (an slightly thicker underwear for your dry suit), but overall, it should be less displacement than before.

As for SAC, I suspect it will go up for a dive or three until you get your weight trimmed out again. Once that happens, you should see it go down.

It looks like I need to work harder to catch up with you. I'm still in the "overweight" class, having dropped from a BMI of 34.2 down to 29.1 area since January. My goal is to get down to normal by the end of summer.

6'2" and 170 you have to be a stick! I've been able to shed some weight myself, going from 6'1 203lb to 188lb so far. I don't think it'll affect my diving any though. I'm hoping to be down to 180 by early/mid May. Congrats on the weight loss, feels great doesn't it?

Less bioprene might mean more undergarment will be needed ... that would add weight, not shed it.
