SuperBowl in Coz

Since my mighty Colts are destined for the Superbowl this year, and we'll be in Cozumel that day, I get to watch the game while I off-gas. Anyone want to reccomend a good place to watch the game and have a cerveza or two?

Well, I am not sure on this one...There are different opinions on this. But Feb 6th is a official holiday due to the local elections. Check with the hotels and bars. They are trying to lift the ban on alcohol....

Yep, I didn't even put together the fact that Superbowl Sunda was the same day as Election day...which means NO alcohol sales. I can't imagine how frustrated the bar and restaurant owners are since Superbowl Sunday is usually a big day.

I was just trying to get as much info on this as I could. I hope they give some leeway, as folks on vacation will be dissapointed if it is dry on the island and may not want to come back to mexico. That is the real negative, as its not the visitor's fault. Im going to buy mine for the game on Thursday however.

Does the ban include all inclusive resorts too?

I just called the resort and they said they are serving alcohol on Feb.6.

This may require a little planning. I usually don't drink much on dive trips, but the likelihood of the evil, evil Patroits winning again may be too much to handle without anaesthesia. I'm sure we'll find someplace that will help us manage our pain, even if it's the hotel lobby and a cooler of Modelo. Hey, maybe Christi will take us on a nice, long night dive, starting at kickoff... If I'm underwater when it happens, it's not real, right?
