I just don't log dives
timg and I joined Mario and tathiana visiting from WPB early this morning on their 36FT sea ray docked @ marina del mar directly across the canal from horizion divers. even with SPORTY conditions offshore, I never turn down a day of diving on someone else's vessel, especially a big one! planned on a possible dive on the duane and snapper ledge, however, 3-5FT seas dictated a quick double on the closest reef; yes, my second home, MOLASSES! bright warm sunshine, air temp 83F , freshening 12-15KT SE winds and bumpy seas. outside of three local dive charters @ MO(only ocean divers, scuba do and kl dive center), very quiet out there. 1ST dive: buoy M9(eagle ray alley, logans run, northstar, winch hole/train wreck), dusty blue water, viz 45-50 FT due primarily to the moderate surge(kicked up sand), zero current, water temp a constant 77F @ 25-42FT. we then headed south to buoy M19 for the second dive but observed brilliant blue water on the deep sites(only about 100 meters offshore M9) and elected to conduct a reverse profile(36 EAN) and dive deep buoy M28: fantastic blue viz approaching 100FT!(no suspended sand or surge), light NE current, 77F @ 50-90FT. turtles, large schools of horseye jacks, dog/grey snappers, black groupers everywhere, 0ctopus and abundant topicals especially in the vicinity of the dropoff. superior conditions beneath the surface, but topside, not so much, althought it was sunny and warm! pics from TIMG,,,,,,,
