My wife and I plan on doing a few shore dives while at the Sunset House in June.
As we like to travel light, my wife was wondering if her thin rubber soled dive slippers will be ok for the entry and exit at Sunset House. Are there stairs / ladder, or are we going to gave to deal with the iron shore where something sturdier will be required.

Yes, I realize that Sunset House rests on iron shore. I am just asking about the entry / exit area.

This link is similar to the light sole she is thinking of having on the trip (as we are mostly doing boat dives this trip):

Akona Low Cut 3.5 mm Boots (AKBT538)

Thanks

sunset house has two ladders bit i'd recommend something with a sole anyway. it can be a little slippery walking to and from the ladders.

In dozens of shore dives (I did all my certs there ...) at sunset I have never been anything but bare foot.

There are ladders and cement paths that cross the ironshore. The Akona boot will be fine.

The sea pool has concrete steps into the water: Grand Cayman Island Sea Pool adventure

We just went in straight off the walkway on the right side of this shot - there's a little wall you can sit on and gear up. And a ladder.
The green umbrellas are My Bar.

I dove all week with a similar boot: http://www.leisurepro.com/Prod/TBTS23.html?&&
No problems at Sunset House, Eden Rock and Turtle Reef.
Both Lighthouse Point and Cobalt Coast have docks also.

without getting into some strang enviromental laws I always wear soled booty the this and turtle reef dive site. There is a comfy ladder at each site yet there are also some shallows where you can put your foot down on the iron shore.... There always seems to be sea urchins tucked into the iron shore....
