scubahorse:
What kinds of Undergarments do you use for the hot california summer? Thanks.

I use the same one year round. DUI 300 Fleece. In the summer the water from 0-40ft is in the mid to high 60's 40ft and below is still pretty chilly (53-58).

DUI's ratings are as follows:
Actionwear 150: 65o + F
Actionwear 300: 45o - 60 o

So as you can see, the 300 really is suitable for dives year round in SoCal.

If you were beach diving in the summer, I might go with a lighter undergarment, but I prefer to dive wet on beach dives.

I just peel the undergarment down between dives, otherwise it is pretty warm.

Same thing year-round, Bare CT200.
I tried the Weezle Compact last summer, and quickly discovered that it doesn't matter whether it's 60 or 70 at the surface, it's always 50-55 at 100-120ft.
Only dive I've ever done in my drysuit where I was cold, but if you want it, it's in the classifieds for $200 :)

Like DazedOne said, peel it down between dives. When our surface intervals are more than a couple of hours, I'll generally get completely out of the suit, though sometimes I'll stay in the CT200 with the zipper open if I get a bit chilly.

It's rarely above 75 out at Catalina if the wind isn't blocked, so it's easy to get chilled.

I use DUI's Polartech 300 year round for deep or boat dives. For shallow dives from shore, I use a 7MM wetsuit. During the summer, it may be 68-70 degrees on the surface and down to about 35'-40', but deeper than that, it can be in the mid 50's to low 60's regardless of season. Mid to high 40's at depth is not uncommon in winter.

I either dive with my Dui polartech 300 or dive with my wetsuit if water temp approaches 65 degrees. Thin insulation just doesnt feel right to me.

I have Diving Concepts underwear and a Polartech suit that I got from Costco for about $40. The Costco suit keeps me warmer and is two piece, so I can remove the jacket out of the water to avoid overheating.
