Morning! I have a halcyon singles rig with a steel plate, which I really enjoy diving with. Most of my diving is in the Philippines and SE Asia so it is perfect with a thin wetsuit in the warm water. The one drawback is traveling. I often have to take small puddle jumpers and they have very strick weight restrictions. More than once I had to leave my dive gear for a later flight and had to dive with the shops gear. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Is it possible to get a plastic plate and use weights? Any suggestions are appreciated. Dive safe. Thanks, Jack

Aluminum plate if the weight is that close to airline limits.

Deep Sea Supply makes a Kydex backplate which is very light but very strong (I have used mine with doubles in Mexico). Travelling with that, and putting weights on the cambands, has worked well for me.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into getting an aluminum plate locally and email Deep Sea Supply.
