I have the second half of October and first half of November off so im looking at both options... ive spent a night and dove Roatan in the past then spent few weeks on Utila. would love to go back and im thinking in the Spring when I have another 7 weeks off.... we went to Belize last fall and I wasn't to impressed. I know Cozumel is easy and cheap and could be a go to

I hear you on not being impressed, I'm lucky to have spent alot of time diving the Coral Triangle, so the Caribbean is a step down for me.
I loved Utilla when I got certified there 19 years ago. I am Roatan curious, I'd probably enjoy the West Side vibe. I dive a trip in November and another in January and it's not the best weather then for Roatan.

Where in Belize did you dive? my info is from copious reading of divers experience's on here, and there is alot of so-so diving in Belize but Half Moon area has a really good reputation.

You looking for big stuff, ever considered Tiger Beach? I love it.

If I had 7 weeks in the spring I'd be heading to Indonesia!

For October, I'd say Curacao or Bonaire for a Caribbean trip since they are both pretty far self of the normal hurricane belt. If you want to chance it and probably get a good rate, I'd say Little Cayman Beach Resort.....

Depending on whether you want a bit of seclusion, or if you want more hustle and bustle, will decide where will work best for you. The west end will give you some seclusion, but still has good restaurants, bars and beaches. Starting furthest west, Westpunt, the go to's are Nos Krusero Apartments, AllWest Apartments, Marazul Dive Resort and Rancho El Sobrino.

Nos Krusero Diving Apartment | Nos Krusero Apartments | Curaçao is right across the street from Go West Diving Home - Go West Diving , which has boat dives as well as a fantastic house reef. Some argue that it's the best house reef on the island.

AllWest Home - All West Apartments & Diving Curacao - All West - ENG is associated with Go West, but is further down the road from them. They are waterfront and next to Playa Piscado, which is where to fisherman clean there daily catches. This, in turn, brings in LOTS of turtles. Also, there is a stairway that will take you down to the beach for shore diving. Go West has tanks and facilities on site.

Marazul Dive Resort Marazul Dive Resort on the beautiful island of Curaçao (Some of there units are available through the typical rental sites, so look around) is on the east end of town. Contrary to the name, this is not a dive resort. There is no on site dive shop or dive op, but there is good shore diving available down a series of stairs on either end of the complex. For tank/gear rentals there is Sublime Diving dive shop Sublime diving | The Way to Experience Diving next door at Rancho El Sobrino and Go West is an easy drive from here. The complex is water side, and many of the units are waterfront. There is a pool on site, as well.

Rancho El Sobrino Rancho el Sobrino website - Sabana Westpunt hotel is behind Marazul. Nice little units available with a nice onsite restaurant and Sublime dive shop.

East of Westpunt you'll find Lagun. I'm not as familiar with this area, but Lagun Blou Resort Lagun Blou Resort Curacao | Your oasis in the Caribbean seems to be popular, and right next to the beach. According to their website, there is a dive shop on site. There are some other accommodations on the other side of the beach, but I know nothing about them. As for restaurants, we wish we had discovered Discover Lagun earlier in the week. This was the best food we had all week, and we had good food all week.

If you're looking for something with a bit more active surrounding, there are some places in Willemstad that come with good recommendations from others on SB. Those would be Curacao Marriott Beach Resort Hotel in Willemstad | Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort, Sunscape Curacao Resort https://www.amrcollection.com/en/resorts-hotels/sunscape/curacao/curacao-resort-spa-casino/, and LionsDive Beach Resort The perfect vacation awaits at LionsDive Beach Resort Curaçao!.

Of course, this is by NO means an exhaustive list. If you read through the many posts in the Curacao forum you will find a few more locations that get raves, as well.

Hope this helped and was not too overwhelming, lol.
