One suggestion - the DPF might be better served by agency forums (GUE/UTD). I'd love to get rid of that one.

Feel free to throw that one out to Site Support.

Now that GUE has a forum of their own, I don't see DPF getting as much traffic (if any).

The DIR forum, with its protections/restrictions, exists primarily for single tank divers who have questions about the system -- how it's done, how to get trained, what equipment is required and how to set it up.

That would fit nicely with "beginning tech" and "advanced". Afterall DIRF like classes, even when taken in a single tank, are intended to be a stepping stone. "Beginning with the end in mind" and all that.

May I, since we are in here, say this is hogwash?

I love it!! :rofl3:

And I inherited it due to the other two mods quitting...
Huh?

I guess I did "quit". Because I was unwilling to change my style of posting, I was not worthly of being a DIR Group leader. But I hate to think that I was a quiter.

Hogwash? Thats the best you could come up with? ;)

Its bull****

But I do agree with you. DIR has its roots in technical diving...but its not just about technical diving.

I beg to differ. I think DIRF is a foundation. What you build on it is up to you, and I would be willing to bet that the number of people who have taken Fundies and left it there vastly outnumber the ones who have gone on to ANY technical training with any agency.

Not sure that argument belongs here, though, unless we want to talk about how such classes ought to be structured or sold, or how participants in them should be selected.

All I can say is when I get a cave or cavern student who has taken fundies & got at least a provisional pass I am a happy camper.
