Greetings

I have been visiting this page for some time and wanted to say hi. My wife (Cathy) and I will be doing this shore dive next Saturday and wanted to invite anyone along for a morning dive. We plan on parking at Seatrek by 10:00 AM, doing a dive and then after lunch we will be looking for shells off the shallow reef south of there. Nice day and would like to meet you guys. Any one up for this???

Hi Nick & Cathy

A beach dive in Bradenton Regina/Sugar(Malasses)Barge sound's like fun and I would like to join in. But If there are westerly winds visibility can be reduced to zero. I have been told visibility can rapidly change and it would be a good idea to watch the wheather and call the dive shop the day before to get a report on the visibility.
How about a Spring dive as a back up plan incase visibility is poor and or wheather does not cooperate?

Doug;

You are absolutely right, I have been out there with poor vis and makes for an interesting dive. I am the first to practice safe diving and encourage everyone to do the same... like many of the rescue classes we did in Michigan with no viz and guide lines were our eyes.

I plan on watching the weather but seems the wind will be out of the east... although with the tropical storm, things may change. Will give an update on friday but chances are I will make the drive down and see what happens. I have a dive buddy, instructor in Crystal River and we did the Rainbow River last weekend...... what a nice dive.

We will talk

hey, LTGW
Doug is a good man and dive partner.(as are everyone else I've dove with from this site). I did a couple of dives with him last month (Devil's Den). He has has also done most of the springs in that part of the state at least once. I'm just sorry that I am overwhelmed at work right now or I'd be in the water waiting for ya'll.
have fun.
