I don't know where the heck to post this, since it's technically not scuba diving, so I figured this forum might be a good place to start.

Does anyone know of any submarines you can travel in? I know there's one in Cozumel and another in the Hawaiian islands, but I mean one that goes down deep, like 1,000 feet or so? That's one of my goals in life and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to make it diving open circuit...lol.

Atlantis Submarines used to offer a deep submersible tour in Grand Cayman. I don't see it listed on the website any more, but I know for a fact it was available for a long time. It was pricey, but took you down to that 1000' range with a tour of the Kirk Pride @ 800'.

Here's a thread about it: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/cayman-islands/332025-1200-ft-wall-dive.html

Might be worth you checking to see if it's still offered or not.

Not sure, but that may be the sub "retired" sitting on the shore in Georgetown.

Scuba Diving magazine just did an article regarding 5 manned submarines in the jan/feb 11 issue (See it does have useful info sometimes :) )

The Undersea Hunter, Stanley Submarines and Deep Flight Submersibles were already mentioned

The also listed:
Blue Safari Submarine, Grand Bay - Mauritius
Deep Ocean Expeditions (Go to the Titanic For the low price of only $60,000!!! ) Though if I had a spare 60k it would totally be worth it

Possibly. It's been several years since I inquired about the deep sub. It was more than I was willing to pay and I never gave it any more thought after that.
