I don't know where the heck to post this, since it's technically not scuba diving, so I figured this forum might be a good place to start.

Does anyone know of any submarines you can travel in? I know there's one in Cozumel and another in the Hawaiian islands, but I mean one that goes down deep, like 1,000 feet or so? That's one of my goals in life and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to make it diving open circuit...lol.

There is one in Roatan that goes deep. I believe he takes two passengers and dependent on costs goes to 1500 I think.

Wow....I just googled him. I think this is the one you mean, right? That sounds like such an awesome journey.

hmmm, would you go 1000 feet deep with a submarine made out of cesna and chevy parts? lol

Well, as long as they're Chevy parts and not Dodge parts. :D

The guy obviously has a good track record, given that he's still alive and all...lolol. It's all about calculated risks. Generally speaking the touristy stuff like that doesn't keep going if they have a bad habit of offing tourists...lol.

I have done Stanley's sub down to nearly 2,000'.

It's a long ride down and back, dark and cold, but not something that very many people have seen or done.

Once was enough though. I don't think any of the car or airplane parts are recognizable.

I think, relatively speaking, it's a safe thing to do.
