I just don't log dives
I usually clip important stuff that I keep in my pockets to a nearby d-ring (in the pocket) so I don't lose it if I drop it while trying to fish it out. I would hate to be out on the open water at night waiting to be picked up/and/or rescued and find that I've dropped the strobe, SMB or backup light.

Does anybody else do this, and/or does anybody think clipping off stuff in pockets is bad?

Terry

I carry 3 items in my pockets at present. All are clipped off.

You are much more likely to be photographed for a dive magazine if you clip all your gear to your BC, especially with "retractors", where it can be seen and be proof positive you are prepared. If retractors are not your style just "let it all hang out" and if you are fortunate it will catch on something, thereby preventing you from drifting away from the wreck or reef. :eyebrow:

My both of my drysuits have TWO pockets as does one of my wetsuits. Yes, I carry plenty gear clipped off in those pockets; spare mask, spool, liftbag, etc.

I clip things off to a 4" diameter loop of small bungee cord that is tied onto a D-ring inside my pocket. I find it's easier to clip/unclip from the bungee loop than from the D-ring, and if you are having a hard time getting something, you can just pull everything out while still clipped onto the bungee loop and sort it out.

My Seaquest ProQD has a suitable loop in the left hand pocket, but needed the addition of a pin-mounted D-ring for the right pocket. If your pocket has grommet holes, you could just loop the bungee cord through the grommets.

I *KNEW* there was a reason nobody was taking my picture!

Where can I buy a bunch of cool stuff to hang on the outside? Maybe the place that sells all the crap Bennigans and TGI Fridays screws to the wall has "fun SCUBA stuff" too!

Maybe I can get it with self-adhesive retractors!

I actually place all the little goodies in one of the dive rite double zip pouches and put that in a drysuit pocket as my drysuit pockets dont have a factory installed d rings. easy to get in and out and everything is secure.

Hoe about some bumper stickers, like people used to put on RVs :)

I'm waiting for the day when I can dive like a NASCAR driver, with the names of my many sponsors plastered all over the place.

I like the idea of clipping everything in the pocket into a bungee loop off a D ring, instead of trying to clip each of them directly to a D ring. I hate clutter, and that would further simplify things. The only pocket object I couldn't clip off is a small bottle of drinking water.

I cant stand clutter either. I keep my snorkel and other things in my pockets. No D rings in there tho I really like the concept. Any ideas?

It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one who clips stuff off inside a pocket.

I didn't want to someday open a pocket for a much-needed item and watch sink into the briny deep.
