I have seen these before but not for a while. They are stubby Al tanks, same diameter as al80s but much shorter. Might be 30s or even 20s.
Does anyone have one for sale or know who might sell them? I have the perfect application for a couple.

....well, AL 63's are pretty common....and I believe there are AL 50's out there but I don't think AL 50's are still in production......I'd scour E-Bay for those.

The shortest AL tank the same diameter of an AL80 is the AL53 at 19.2" long. Catalina still makes them. There is also an AL45 at about 17.7" long but it is slightly smaller in diameter than an 80 at 6.9" diameter. There have also been some stubby AL tanks at 5.25" diameter in 27 CF and 20CF sizes.

The AL50s are 6.9" diameter.

If you are specifically looking for a stubby tank the same diameter as an AL80, with the most capacity, Faber makes a Steel HP65 at 16.73" long. That is probably the shortest SCUBA tank made in the same diameter as an AL80.

What is your application and requirements?

You might have seen the AL45s. The AL45s are the shortest AL SCUBA tanks made for the US market that are near the diameter of an AL80. There are some industrial aluminum cylinders that are about an inch or two shorter but they don't have SCUBA threads. Anything shorter will be 5.25" diameter or smaller.

No these were definately smaller, they were fitted with scuba valves, they also had a DOT stamp because I was filling them for a customer. IIRC they were about 12" tall.
