Which type of rechargeable batteries are recommended for strobes? I have 2 sea & sea ys-d2j stobes

Thanks

Eneloop Pro

Eneloop Pro
Same, Eneloop Pro. I've been using the same set of 12, 8 at a time, for almost ten years, 3-6 dive trips a year. I use 8 (two YS-D1s) while recharging 4, rotate the 4 in to one strobe for a day and charge those 4 from the strobe. So at least one strobe has fresh batteries daily, and neither strobe goes more than two days of shooting on a set of four Eneloop Pros. No issues.

I use Sea&Sea YS-D3's Eneloops work great (the white ones).
Don't get Eneloop Lite

I use Eneloop Pro's but had a leak in one battery that killed a brand new YSD3 just over a year ago and now use IKEA LADA batteries, which are apparently made by Panasonic.

The Eneloop Pro's I was using were probably around 5+ years old, and I'm using the remainder for other items powered by AA batteries.

Have a look at the small print on Eneloop Pro's packaging, BackScatter also advise against using them in UW strobes.

eneloop itself says that the batteries have 500 charging cycles
how many cycles did yours have?
i change mine after about 2 years and then use them for other / unimportant devices
