Bug Hunting Brethren,

Be advised: it appears our striped-friends (striped bass) have learned a neat trick. One that isn't so good for our bug buddies.

Dive buddy and I noticed two or three stripers tailing us on our second dive this sunday. Silly me didn't think much of it, at least at first. But as soon as i place a short bug down after the unsuccessful measure they SWOOPED in. I defended my bug buddy's life (though he wasnt very appreciative, no-harm, no-foul, I suppose). But I FINALLY caught on! They were looking for an easy (and tasty) meal.

Well, I'm not in the business of "feeding fish", I'd prefer to feed myself. So be alert and try to tuck the shorties back in a nice, safe little hole aft' the measuring. At least so they will be ready next season for people consumption rather than fish food this year!!

cheers all,
scubastew

Thats nothing new. These stripers up here are almost tame. You can hand feed them if you want (well, not exactly, but they do come pretty close to catch a crab that you toss up into the water).

Hmm Lobster stuffed Bass sounds great.

What really makes me mad about that is that the Striper probably didn't even have a permit!!!!! ;)

Sorry that discussion is another thread......see police poaching.
