Story about the bends for a freshman research paper

Hello, I am a freshman attending Arizona State University. I am writing a research paper on decompression sickness. The catch is that it is an advanced composition class so I have to find a way to weave together research on the bends and a detailed story about someone who has experienced it. The paper will not be published and will only be read by my professor. If you are comfortable telling your story it would be greatly appreciated.

The Rubicon Research Repository maintained by the Rubicon Foundation is a wonderful online library of diving-related research articles. The public has free access to it.

Although many divers use decompression algorithms to help them manage DCS risk, we still don't understand the specifics of DCS pathophysiology in humans.
