I'll be checking out Stillhouse Lake tomorrow around 10:00 if anyone is interested. No idea what conditions will be other than wet. I'll post the conditions after.

I'll be looking forward to you report. I plan to get down there sometime in April, once my teammate Tejas gets his dry suit squared away. I'll probably be bugging you for information about the place soon, even though I've read some of your other posts. :)

Thanks, and safe diving today,

Cyp

Just posted it in dive conditions. After the dive, I went down to the shop at the marina and met Leonard who works there. Nice guy. The shop was sold a while back and the new owners have rearranged the shop, making it much more inviting. They are in the process of setting up additional sites around the lake which will include sunken boats, etc. Leonard tells me that they have also done some work at the old scuba park on Lake Belton near the Morgan's Point Marina, adding some sunken boats there as well. Lake Belton is not too far below normal levels now. I may check it out next weekend.

What is Stillhouse like to dive?

I boated on it, but found it really populated by trees. It seems it would be dangerous to dive.

Thanks for the report. It's good to hear what the new owners are planning, but I hate to see the visibility that low. I'll be watching for the report on Lake Belton. :)

Safe dives,

There are lots of stump fields but not in the areas I dive.. I dive at the scuba park near the marina. There are a few sunken boats, a channel that bottoms out at 60 ft, the remnants of an old power plant, and other odds and ends. We've run lines from a couple of platforms to the main points of interest. As far as viz, I've seen it 10 ft + and less than 1 ft. It's close to my home (30 min) so it is convienent.

Hey man Stefen and I are back from down range. Let me know when you plan on going back to Stillhouse again. I would like to see the old pump station again.
