Im moving from the uk to Canada and will need to buy new doubles.
I currently dive double faber standard 12.2 litre 232bar

What do people generally use for tech dives to 200 feet max. It's rare that I do this kind of dive.

I'm confused by the different sizes available on North American websites.

Is there a standard neck thread size? I may bring an Apex manifold and bands with me, might work out cheaper.

Any advice appreciated.

Do your manifold valves have burst discs? EU doesn't require them but TC does. You might do better selling the manifold where you are and buying a TC compliant manifold here.

A 12.2 liter cylinder is a HP steel 100. The thread size for your valves is M25, in the US and Canada that cylinder takes a 3/4" straight thread. I just sold a set of that cylinder for $450 doubled up, they aren't that hard to find.

Captain,

You didn't mean that the M25 = 3/4" thread, did you?

Yes, an M25 is not the same as a 3/4" straight thread, although one will fit the other (poorly), but they are not interchangable.

Just making sure :)

Thanks wookie.

That's exactly the information I couldn't work out on line.

It appears that you are going to start from zero for the cylinders part when you make your move to Canada.

And, OBTW, I dive to 200 feet with the steel hundreds (232 bar 12.2 liters) also, but my knees are too shot to go deeper. I have double 120's, but the ladders are just too far apart.

On the west coast, HP 100's tend to be very popular, also HP 120's. If your building up a set here, you can source the tanks from a shop or used, the best deal you can find for a manifold and bands are online from Divegearexpress, even after shipping and custom fees they are still much cheaper.
