steel LP 77 overfills .. question

by that logic, tanks should be filled to less than the rated working pressure after easter until halloween just in case they are stored in a hot car during the summer

Tank ratings are at a specific temperature. I wonder if the OMS and Faber volume discrepancy was stp vs ntp.

Stp is 1 bar at 32°f/0°c

Ntp is 68°f/20°c and 1 ATM.
 
do you, that overfill your LP tanks, change the valve to a higher rated valve???
i have 2 steel XS Scuba Worthington LP 77's with thermo valves rated to 2400 psi, burst disk 4000 psi
 
the thermo valves are fine, just a good idea to change the burst disc to 5000+ psi if you plan to overfill to 3200+ psi. less than that, you should have enough headroom just to keep using the 4000 psi disc.
