Leisurepro has the cheapest backplate prices I've seen any where for Diverite plates and harnesses.

Watch ebay, I bought a DiveRite with webbing and buckle and Hog style D-ring setup, brand new for under $100 last summer.

At $114.95 for just the plate, it's hardly among the best deals out there. That it's cheap for a DiveRite brand plate doesn't mean it's a cheap plate. By comparison, the Hammerhead plate includes a single tank adaptor (STA) and only costs $100.

Here is a plate that can be had for $99. I have the polished version and am very happy with it and the Oxycheq signature wing. Plus the tank sits closer to your body, and the plate is curved to fit and hold it against your body, unlike the flatter plate design.

The picture isn't very clear, but it looks like the 11" spaced standard holes you'd use to mount a single tank adapter or doubles are missing. Is that correct? If so, the plate is pretty much useless for anything except diving a single tank with through-plate cam bands. That's fine if you are, but it doesn't give you any flexibility with your configuration, unlike the "flatter" design.

Where are the best prices on a steel back plate?

How about this one?

It's in HOT DEALS here in Scubaboard for $399 and includes blackplate, harness, and your choice of bladder. I'm about 99.9% sure it's a Dive Rite. :D

I am all about the hammerhead steel plate. $99.00 with an STA! I have had mine for a year and love it. At 7lbs with the harness, I don't need any weight at all in doubles, even with pretty thick dry underwear.
