72's are better. Lower pressure = easier and better fills. Better bouyancy. May last longer and yes you can get a + HYDRO to allow overfilling time after time. More rugged for those diving off rocks. May have internal rust problems if abused when filling or water is allowed to enter.

So do any of you get your 72's overfilled to 2600psi effectively making them the same as al80's? (77cf that is)

"Overfilling" to 2640 only brings them up to 72. Just like my LP steel 95 is only 95cft if it is filled to 2640. They give the volume when filled to the plus rating so if you lose the + you no longer get the full rating of the tank. An LP 72 that has lost the + rating is a 65.
