I just got this portable steam cleaner and was amazed with what it can do to remove grease stains.
I am thinking about using steam as a degreaser, particularly for the central chamber of the HP balance plug for Apeks and HOG 1st stages (where the "well-lubricated" HP valve stem O-ring lives) and the end of the air barrel where the cracking effort spring adjuster threads which I tend to lubricate liberally.
It should work and I don't have to use chemicals to boot.
My primary concern is whether it is safe to do so. Has anybody tried to do it?
Obviously I would not want to use it on plastic parts and maybe the springs (tempered) and the orifice.
Any thoughts on the subject?
