How on earth do you get a full fill in a Ti tank then? They must have a monstrous working pressure.

I believe it was just over 6,000 psi. They were designed for the Russian Military. Compressors are available that will top 10,000 but once you get over 4,500 or so, the price of compressors and handling equipment leaves the range of all but the military or large commercial. Even the valves on the TI tanks are 'special'. I have no idea where a person would ever get parts to rebuild one.
 
Stainless Steel Tanks

I remember "JUSTICE" Stainless Steel tanks, in the 80's, in Orlando Florida. They advertised a 10 year hydro test, instead of standard 5 years. They were pricey though, never caught on in sport industry. ie $1000 for a 90 cuft tank
