Is there a recommended length for stage hoses?

This website claims 36 inches for first stage with swivel and 40 otherwise

I have 36" on swivel, 40" non-swivel. I prefer my non-swivel regs, the 36" is a little too long, I end up rotating the turret to point the hose down the cylinder anyway, kind of defeat the point.

Brian and Jeanna arent diving anymore as far as I know. But their old frogkick website is legit and not going to steer you wrong.

I have 40" hoses on most of my stages using a turret, but I have one with a 36" hose to try out based on reading FKD. I honestly prefer the 40" hose, the 36" hose just doesn't sit right, more pulling than I would like. I don't dislike it enough to replace it, but I won't be buying anymore 36" hoses for stages.
