I recently did some wistful checking into the idea of moving to St. Thomas someday in the distant future, & found a thread on another forum discussing it (if memory serves with some lively debate). While some issues might not bother you if you live on a boat, and the thread is a couple of years old, it's well worth thinking about.
Funny how the guy who had the most negative things to say, is in Miami now and thinks it's the GREATEST. I've only been here since Feb, and I'm SO ready to leave. Yeah...there's no violence in Miami at all. :sarcasm:

The best news is, according to the last page, being on a boat is the way to do it. I can ignore the second half of that post, because I think the American Dream is dead anyway, and the last thing I want is a 9-5 conventional kind of life. Wonder how many of the people on the group are divers or boaters.

Looks like I have some phone calls to make! Actually I was referring to a loop around Buck Island, without dropping the hook. Depending on where the park boundaries are, that's a possibility. Thanks, lots of other cool ideas. I actually had the boat listed on airbnb for a while. Maybe I'd have better luck down there.

Loop around Buck island won't work, the park boundaries are so huge that you won't be anywhere near it, and what would be the point of someone paying you to take them around BI when they could pay someone else to actually go there? You'll need to find a different niche...you are clever and I know you will. :thumb:

Yes, life on a boat here will be very different than life on land. And crime in Miami, PLEASE...everyone warned me about crime on the islands and I feel SO much safer here. Murder capital of the world...yes but it's all hoody on hoody here. In Miami, everyone is a potential victim. Come on down!

HAHA! Yeah, that was a dumb idea. Like, "Hey I can't take you there, but we can do a loop around Pennekamp!" Yeah I just need to find a cool spot that not many go to, and an angle that on one else is doing.

:rofl3: You'll find your niche, Chris, I know you will.

I think there's already a lot of competition for those, Chris.

:rofl3:
