St. Ignace/Straits of Mack treasure hunt

The Straits of Mackinac underwater preserve is having it's annual fund raiser/treasure hunt Aug 10 @ 9:30 in St. Ignace. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on site. It is a chance get a shore dive in, meet other divers and support one of MI's great underwater preserves. There are many nearby hotels and a great State Park for camping. Obviously, Mackinac Island is a short ferry ride away too. Hope to see many of you there.

Just a reminder, this weekend, Sunday, is the underwater treasure hunt in St. Ignace, MI. There will be a couple charters up for grabs, along with some t-shirts and other prizes. A cookout lunch is also provided. This is a great chance to get a dive or two in, visit a beautiful area, meet and greet other divers and support a local preserve. Hope to see some of you there.

Doug, are the new Straits logo t-shirts going to be available?

Yes sir, they should be availble this weekend. They should be pretty sharp with the three color logo on the front of a 100% cotton ash/grey t-shirt. I think they'll be about $20. I'll try to get someone far better looking than myself (should be an easy task) to model one and try to post a pic here. We could probably order long sleeve t-shirts or sweatshirts, if there was an interest. Hope to see you in the UP.

The Straits of Mackinac Underwater Preserve treasure hunt/fund-raiser was last weekend. It was very windy, so we canceled the dive (the couple area charter boats even canceled their charters). Nobody seemed terribly disappointed. We still had lunch and the prize giveaway and a good time. A big thanks to all that came out to participate and support Straits diving and a bigger thanks to the shops and individuals who donated prizes. We got the first batch of new Straits t-shirts last week. They are very nice. We hope to have t-shirts available online soon. Stay posted for details.
