Seems like Chatterton has always been quicker to adopt new technology. Richie's a little more cautious. That came out in the book and is evident on the tv series. One nice thing about rebreathers is the ability to record all the UW commentary/audio during the dive without bubble/exhaust noise that you get with a regular full face mask. Hearing their (sometimes un-rehearsed!) reaction to something during the dive is kind of cool. We've all had those "HOLY S**t" moments while wreck diving. I wonder how many times these guys have had to censor themselves in post production!

Traditionally, Ritchie refused to use re-breathers because of the dangers. But of course, he used to refuse diving tri-mix at extreme depths, earlier on.

At the Our World Underwater, I caught the two talking about a dive where Ritchie used a CCR and John was using open circuit. That was funny knowing about Ritchie's aversion to new diving technology.

I had my brother tape the show, but the stuff that I am taking to kill off this cold and still go to work is knocking me on my can at night. I will likely need to watch it next week :) .

I have a video on the GLWC website with no links yet as I am having trouble finding the reactivation code for my dreamweaver software. Video is courtesy of PPO2 Diver.
