Women usually have a shorter torso than a man of equal height so if she is 5'1" a small plate should be more suitable.

Since, you guys live in Arizona, Scuba specialties is in that neck of the woods. Give them a call and see what is available and if your wife can actually try on different bp/w it makes things a lot easier.

I like the angled slot design of the Oxycheq plate but the ss plate has a sort of sand blasted finish and I found it a bit rough on the wetsuit. Other than that it's a great plate.

DSS is great too and there are small plates for her as well. Golem gear has a nice selection as well.

Cheers,

Does DiveRite only have one size for their BPs? I'm 6'1" and the BP fits me fine, but my wife is thinking of going the BP/W route, but we're not too sure it'll fit her as well - she's 5'3". Are we better going the DSS route, or does anyone have any suggestions? I've enjoyed my DR setup and would like to continue that route, but obviously fit is more important. Thanks- booth

Oxycheq makes, among other things, a small and medium BP. My wife is 5'4" and the medium fits her fine.

You can also check with The Kraken here on SB as he custom makes plates (short, standard, and long) but only for SB members.

DSS and FredT also make short plates as already mentioned.

Aloha, Tim
