Hello all-

I've been off the boards a little while and was wondering if anyone had posted info on squid runs? Last year, HBDiveGirl was kind enough to post a thread on the whereabouts of the best places to view the run off Redondo.

Anyone care to share their experiences of late?

Thanks!

Hi Jake,

Sat I dived The canyon at La Jolla Shores. During the day, they were everywhere! Even some flashing going on

:mooner: No not that kind.

Lol. Thanks. I was thinking of heading to SD to visit a friend. Maybe this seals the deal!

The squid run in SD is pretty much over. The climax was a couple weeks ago, but you still can find a couple roaming around that missed the party.

The good news is that theres eggs everywhere and you can start seeing the little squid eyes forming.

Full moon this week - I'm confident if you dive Wed either at Vets are LJS you'll see a few.

We dived Vets last Wed night and saw some.

Eggs are everywhere from the full runs last month, but there will doubtless be some squiddy-come-lately's this week.

I was out at Vets last night. a few squids, but a fair amount of eggs. not nearly as many as last year however. you can start to make out little bitty eggys in the bigger pods.

Not much squid activity here off Catalina this year... in fact barely a sighting of an egg capsule, much less clusters or mating squid.
