anyone been to st croix lately with a sprint cell phone? just wondering what kind of coverage sprint has there. thank you

Yes, I have been to St. Croix lately... definitely missing the warm weather... but no, don't know if sprint works or not.

Sorry, I know this was not helpful :)
Cheers!

We had decent coverage with Cingular there during our 4th of July trip - don't know about Sprint though.

Sorry about the acronyms-
IDEN = is the Nextel platform that has the walkie talkie that everyone knows and loves.
CDMA= is the Sprint platform that includes the new eVDO (evolution data only) with dsl/cable speeds over the air.
GSM = is a widely used european platform and its stands for Global System for Mobile Comm's.

Hope this helps!

Just came back from st. croix.

t-mobile (gsm) worked absolutely fine
cingular (gsm) worked not at all

My wife and I are headed their in December. We both have Verizon. We were in St. John last year and the phones worked great. $150.00 extra on my bill for out of national area network.
