What is the best spring.Plain and simple..I am not cave certifeid..So whats the best spring for OW and AOW??Been to crystal river..Terrible..​

It's not that easy.

Try Alexander spring in Ocala first, then the Ballroom at Ginnie springs in High Springs, then as long as you can stay off the bottom and not kick up ANY silt try Paradise springs in Ocala. Three different springs and different types of dives. If you want let me know an I'll go along on either Fridays or Saturdays.

Getting there early in the summer is the key to good vis and avoiding the crowds.

Having a thick wetsuit or drysuit ( like me ) is key for winter unless you're a polar bear like some of the others here.

Blue Grotto is a good open water cavern dive.

I agree with Eandiver On the springs he mentioned. I would also throw in the Rainbow River. It is a nice drift dive, good vis, and springs temperatures. Max depth 21 ft.

ginnie springs is a good one for ow divers to see the other side of diving.....blue grotto like the guys say is also good and ofcourse devils den........!

Here is Orange Grove at Peacock springs. It's a great open water dive but not during the summer due to poor visability.

Weekie Wachee is only for instruction, as far as I have ever been told. I went to Blue Grotto Sat. Here is apic from there.

i went to weekie wachee's website..It is like 80 bucks to dive there...How far is blue grotto from tampa..???
