Sorry for the poor quality picture, but I think you can make this out. Any idea what this is? My best guess is some kind of batfish.

This guy was spotted at Soyak off Tioman Island (Malaysia). He was in the same spot a couple days later. Both times was mid-day. He's the only one I saw in all my dives there, and I haven't seem anything like it around Thailand or Indonesia.

Yes you are right, it is a batfish.

Known as the Longfin spadefish or Platax teira, your image shows the juvenile. Extremely elongated dorsal, anal and ventral fins.
