In the process of producing a time line of "Sportsways/Waterlung regs. does anybody have know when was the last year the "HYDROTWIN reg appeared in their catalogue fingers cross to the answer

I don't have any new sources, sorry. But I would be interested in seeing some production numbers if you can find them. I've never been able to get accurate accounts of how many regs sportsways made over the years, and there are very few of them in the market place.

I tried to answer your question on VDH. The latest for the Hydro Twin was 1962. ONE year only. Are you maybe asking about the Hydro Twin II?? It ended sometime between 1969 to 1970. Sorry my explanation on VDH wasn't to your satisfaction. Maybe a language issue???

Unfortunately, there's very little history about Sportsways and Sam Lecocq. Here's a great article writtem By Dr. Sam Miller. Sheds light on some things.

Water Lung v. Aqua Lung by Dr. Sam Miller - History of SCUBA Diving

If you go back to VDH, on the top of the page you'll see a button for Manuals and Catalogs.

I just reviewed the Sportsways catalog for 1963, 1964, 1967 and 1971. Essentially, Allen is spot on with the dates, unless you want to list catalog dates. But keep in mind, the catalogs were released to the public 3 - 6 months prior to the beginning of the calender year. Similar to how car models come out today.

The 1963 catalog lists the Hydro-Twin as "New" (Available to the public in mid-late 1962)

The 1964 catalog lists the Hydro-Twin II

The Hydro-Twin II is in the 1967 catolg, but not the 1971 catalog. (Again, 1968 - mid-1970 they were out of production.)

Hope that helps, and keep us posted on your research. I would like to read more about Sam Lecocq.

My Sportsways Hydro-Twin is number H-00553. The label states "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" under the number.
