This was in Utila in November. There were a few of them around. I've never seen these little flower-like ends. Anybody?

Yes, it could be something along the lines of "Solitary Gorgonian Hydroid" which is like tiny anemones that attach to the tip of gorgonians.
 
Thanks for the replies. I just found some pictures of solitary gorgonian hydroids and I agree that's what it must be.
