Spiegle Grove elevator.

I got the picture off the net. I just did a search on Google for the Spiegle Grove and then clicked on images. There are a few more I came across of holes like those in the picture but this was the bast one I saw.

This is kind of hard to pinpoint anything, but may help visualize.

That helps a lot. It was definately in the pilot house part of the boat. I remember the different tiers above the deck before drifting back to the guns(?). Thanks. I was starting to think I hadn't actually been there.

Two questions, is the opening square like the one in Scott's picture or Oval like a hatch? The entrance to the wheel house is a hatch.
Do you remember the depth? The Wheel hose starts at about 75-80' & drops down to 105ish. Those cutouts in the picture are probably about 60-65' .

Okay, it must have been a hatch because I assumed I was in a hallway. Anyway,what's a Wheel hose?
