I just don't log dives
winds/seas higher than advertised, forget our original plan: diving elbow reef, were headed to the GROVE. 2 dives on buoy SG4(portside aft crane). sunny skies, particulate blue water, viz a weak 35-40FT. once again below average viz everywhere. current; mdt NE 1st dive, zero the 2nd. water temp 85F @ 60-96FT. 2nd dip, zero divers/vessels on the wreck! quiet out there! timg provides the photos,,,,,,,,,,,

That is a good flag pic. When I dove there 3 times (2 on 9-22, 1 on 9-24), viz. was as I recall much like you describe. Since my main prior 'big wreck' experience was the Hilma Hooker in Bonaire, it was an adjustment to do the Spiegel Grove (plus going around the boat by granny line, then hand-over-hand down the mooring ball line (with barnacles on it) in current). An interesting dive, though; I recall goliath grouper and some big barracuda!

Richard.

Don't you just hate diving the S.G. when there's no current?

Tim awesome shots as usual.

I really enjoyed the SG and was just looking at the shots you took of us boarding the boat a couple of days ago from the beginning of the year. Brought back a huge grin! That was our first dive with the scooters and it was amazing to see the entire wreck on one dive.

Can't wait to get back down and do it again next month. We have a week in SFL before our cavern class in NFL and we are really looking forward to it.
