I have a V16 1st stage but of the older style withouth the shperical core seat. I've been told I can upgrade it to the SCS. Is it worth the upgrade and what would the benefit be to me?

thanks,

..you might pose this question in the 'Mares manufacturers forum' ....... I've got an MR16-Voltrex that also might benefit from the answer to this question too...also, you might ask about Mares new 'tri-material' HP poppet as well.

JKSTEGAR,
If I were you, I would stick with what you have now. When it comes time for your next service, request they use our new Tri material poppet. The new Poppet is interchangable into any MR Reg. For the V series regs, a small upgrade kit converts it to accomodate the new Tri-Material Poppet. We switched to this new poppet because we found after extensive testing it proved to be better performance and the durability was vastly superior to all we tested against.

Hope this helps. Happy New Year from Mares,
