Basically, which D ring am I supposed to clip off the spg?

I just bought an spg and a hose, but the hose seems to be too short to even reach the hip ring. Its 54cm long (21in) and it appears to me, that its too short to go to the hip.

I asked the shop owner about this and he insisted, that 54cm is standard for technical diving and its what everybody was buying. He also said I am supposed to clip it to the shoulder ring.

Now I am confused. I seem to remember, that during my gue course I had the SPG on my hip, but I can't remember the hose lenght.

Hip. Unclip to view and clip it back when you’re done.

OK it seems I got the wrong hose length :( should be 26in instead of 21

If you are using BP/W then its the left hip ring. There is no right one anyway.

Left hip d-ring.
The shortness could also be caused by how high your tank/first stage is in relation to where the hip d-ring is or if you're very tall.
