Hello everyone,

I have recently started to freedive spearfish this past week. I was in Charlestown, RI last week and will be returning tomorrow. I swam down Charlestown Beach and in the pond for stripers, fluke, and tautog, but I could barely see in front of my gun. Does anyone have any tips on when visibilty might be good; high tide, low tide, incoming, outgoing? I don't really have a clue so any info would help. Also, if anyone would like to share any spots that I might have some success, it would be greatly appreciated. I do have a 17 ft. Whaler so I am not just limited to the beach. Thanks to all, and I look forward to hearing from you guys.

Hey, we've got some great spots down here in South Florida. And we'll be glad to share them with you. Just put that boat in, cruise down the intracoastal, and say "Hi"... ;)

Welcome to the board,

Aloha! You'll like it here, this is the most informative place to go for SCUBA on the internet. Whether you want info, humor, or spirited debate, (or sometimes all three at once!), this is the place! :crafty:

Oh, and when you fill out your profile, flex those humor muscles! :D

As far as spearing goes, I think you'll have better luck with the viz with the boat.
