I got this gun from a friend here in Japan can any one tell me about it? Brand? I have not been able to find anything on-line that looked even close.

 
I was thinking the same thing, But if you look at the way the handle and trigger are made it must have been made from a kit or somthing?
 
The gun is home made. It is a variation of a roller gun. Instead of axel mounted rollers it uses a pulley which rides under the stock. Best guess from the pic. Back in the day, before Commodore Perry, the Japanese made extensive use of crossbows. Maybe the builder got the idea from a wall hanger.
