Hi Pinay Diver,
A similar thing happened to me. I purchased a brand new SP350 at Cathy Church's on Grand Cayman and did some photo class work with them for 2 days. On the 3rd day, I did 4 dives and took around 150 shots. I looked through them in the view finder that same night and they were all there. We left the next day and when we got home, I tried to look at the photos again and the card said it needed to be reformatted. I did not do that. Instead, I looked at the card in my computer, and the shots from the last 2 dives only showed up as an icon instead of a pic. This appeared to mean that the photos were still on the card but I was not able to retrieve them.
I tried several free websites and purchased 2 different kinds of software. Instead of showing all the pics, they merely re-cycled the earlier photos a second time.
I finally mailed the card to http://www.mediarecover.com/ and they sent me a disc yesterday that looks as though it recovered all but a couple of the photos. It cost around $100, but I was glad to have the pics - my first on an SP 350, and my first experiment with a strobe!
I'm waiting for a reply from mediarecover to see what they think happened to my card (airport security equipment?), and also to learn why the program I downloaded from their website was not able to recover the photos (they subtracted the cost of the subscription from the work on the card at their lab)
Hope you can recover yours! alashas
