Okay, I have this cherry MK-5 2-Port Swivel (skinny yoke) that I'm thinking would make just an outstanding PONY/stage reg. Question: Will the SP DIN conversion (that supposedly works for the MK-2 and the MK-10) work? Is it just a simple switch out, or are there considerations? Is there something else that might work better?

Thanks!

Bob

Threads and o-ring are fine but the universal din retainer is just a bit short which will result in crushing the o-rings and binding the din wheel. I added about a 1mm thick brass washer at the bottom of the opening in the body and cut away the inner ring on a new style plastic saddle and it works fine. I did not try it with an original Mk5 metal or plastic saddle. An older Mk10 retainer may not work at all as it is designed to take the o-ring at the end of the retainer. The shoulder on the side may be too tapered to hold the -014? oring on the side. The newer universal retainer has a 90 degree should that holds that side o-ring just fine.

If you take a yoke retainer from a Mk2 and compare it with your Mk5 you should be able to see the problem.

As always - thanks! i need to take a look at the schematics & the units themselves, and see what you mean....

There was another thread that discussed another brand (Not Trident) that might work, but was $$. I might have to hunt that down and see if a bargain can be found.....
