Larry C,

Is the Oly SP350 & PT 030 housing slightly negative or positive in SW with the included counterweight? Excluding any external attachment.

Thanks,

I'm not Larry, but I know the answer.

Slightly negative with the counterweight (almost neutral, actually). Definitely positive without it ...

Bob, I'm still seeing Fuji on your EXIF. Have you got your strobe squared away and started diving the SP yet? Or is your conversion program like mine and uses the closest known camera? (My RAW program calls the SP a C7070WZ).

Hi Larry ...

What's an EXIF?

I am diving the SP-350 ... although the past five weeks I've been so busy teaching that I have only gotten it wet once.

Not diving the strobe yet ... it's in my "I'll get around to it" box ...

Exif.org:
EXIF stands for Exchangeable Image File Format, and is a standard for storing interchange information in image files, especially those using JPEG compression. Most digital cameras now use the EXIF format. The format is part of the DCF standard created by JEITA to encourage interoperability between imaging devices.

EXIF is camera and photo specific information that is embedded in every file/photo (whether JPEG or RAW) that your camera takes.

EXIF data would most likely have info on the date on which the photo was taken (specific time), shutter speed used, aperture setting, flash on or off, metering used, exposure compensation and so on...

More detailed explanation of EXIF here..

Ah thanks ... now I understand the comment. Most of the pics in my gallery were taken before I got the Oly ... hence the Fuji EXIF info ...

Go to your gallery, and click on one of your shots. Now scroll to the bottom screen. It will say EXIF information, and tell you your aperture, shutter speed and FUJI F10 as the camera.

Great thread everyone, I am almost sold on the SP-350 just want to do a final store check out (If I can find a store here that sells it, always a challenge), then probably buy it on line before my next trip.

I could not tell but I am pretty sure it uses standard AA Rechargable Batteries, can someone confirm?

Thanks!

Uses either AA or CRV-3, in std. or rechargeable. CRV-3 seems to work a bit better due to higher voltage, but Oly has a firmware fix for the AA's so the charge monitor will work correctly.

Larry, I am not sure what you mean. I understand about the firmware fix, is that something I would download if I purchased the camera?, and I am not sure what a charge monitor is? Is that the icon that tells you how much battery life you have left?
